Pregnancy, while exciting, can come with plenty of woes and feelings of alienation. However in cases of two friends pregnant at the same time, sharing these feelings can make pregnancy that much better!
As many of our loyal Facebook followers know, Jo and Rachel are only two weeks apart on their third pregnancies. We’ve overlapped by a few months before, but this is a whole different ball game.

Being pregnant at the same time as your best friend is awesome. Here are some of the many reasons why:
Understand Each Other’s Pregnancy Complaints
Pregnancy comes with all sorts of discomforts and weird changes. It is awesome to have someone to commiserate with during this awkward and sometimes painful time.
Even the most empathetic partners aren’t going through all of the aches and pains. It is pretty comforting to have someone who completely understands the ups and downs because she is going through them all right along with you.
So when morning sickness has you down, you can moan about your food aversions together and share your best remedies.
You don’t have to feel embarrassed if you pee your pants when you sneeze because your girl totally gets it.
Whether its weight gain, round ligament pain, sciatica, swelling, leg cramps, or fear of labor pregnancy is hard. It’s a little better when you have someone to complain about it with who completely understands.
Baby Registry Research
Starting your baby registry can be a little overwhelming. There’s so many different styles and brands or every single baby item that it is easy to get caught up in product comparisons and reviews.
So when you’re trying to figure out which car seat is safest or which high chair is the best bargain, you and you BFF can compare notes.
You’re both looking for the best baby finds and can help each other out by sharing that research.

Same Social Interests
In instances of two friends pregnant at the same time, chances are their social outing of choice isn’t going to be hitting up the bar scene.
When you and your bestie are pregnant, you’re both on the same wavelength about enjoyable activities. Think prenatal massages, pedicures, and leisurely walks.
Plus, if you have to cancel plans because your morning sickness or fatigue keeps you from getting out of bed – your girl will completely understand.
Share Maternity Clothes
Maternity clothes sizing is pretty generous. A lot of styles are pretty baggy around the middle with ties around the waist – so a single item can fit a range of sizes.
So with two friends pregnant at the same time, there’s lots of potential to share clothes! Sometimes it’s for special events, other times it’s just because you’re tired of a particular item.
Rachel gave Jo a brand new shirt for work and Jo returned the favor by supplying Rachel with some maternity skinny jeans. It’s like high school all over again!
Kids the Same Age
Being pregnant at the same time as your best friend means that you get to continue going through the challenges of motherhood together. Your kids will end up very close in age, so you’ll likely be dealing with similar parenting issues at the same time.
You and your bestie can deal with sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, and potty training together.
Also, motherhood can hit your social life hard, especially if your friends are still kid-free. Going out becomes much more challenging as you have to arrange plans around feedings and bedtimes and line up childcare. It’s extra awesome when your BFF is on the same page. Plus, you can plan play dates together.
Finally, you have the chance to fulfill the dreams of all young girl friends – that their future kids become best friends.
