Coming up with Easter basket ideas for babies and toddlers can be challenging.
I love holidays and Easter is no exception. But it seems like each year, I scramble to find Easter gifts for my kids.
I make the task more difficult for myself since I try to stick with things that are not candy, not junk, and not expensive.
We try to be pretty healthy so I try to avoid a bunch of sweets in the house. It has definitely taken some creativity to figure out healthy Easter basket ideas for toddlers.
We also already seem to have tons of toys all over the place, so I don’t want to add too much to the chaos. Honestly, I prefer to get things that I know they need, know they will use, or are educational.
Finally, we live on one income and I can’t go busting my budget on Easter so I have to find deals.
That said, I’ve been able to successfully fill their Easter baskets with fun and affordable goodies.
So here is my list of the best Easter basket ideas for toddlers and babies:

The Easter Basket
Ok, the actual Easter basket seems like logical place to start.
Does your family use the same baskets or get new baskets each year?
Personalized Easter baskets are so adorable and much more cost effective if you re-use the same basket from year to year. Amazon has some very cute personalized Easter baskets like the Embroidered Plush Blue Bunny Personalized Easter Basket.
Also, consider getting creative with where the Easter baskets are placed. At Jo’s house, the Easter bunny leaves them in each kid’s bed. When we spend the holiday with my cousins, the Easter Bunny hides the baskets and leaves a map.
Now, what to put in the Easter baskets…

Easter Board Books for Babies and Toddlers
I love reading so I pretty much always make sure that I include a book in any gift and books make perfect Easter basket fillers.
Though the book doesn’t necessarily have to be Easter themed, here are a few of my favorite Easter books for babies and toddlers:
The llama llama board books are short and sweet and great for little ones.
Where Are Baby’s Easter Eggs? A Lift-the-Flap Book
Don’t all little kids love books with flaps? I know mine do.
Happy Easter, Mouse! (If You Give…)
We love all of the Mouse books (If you give a Mouse a Cookie), and have all of the holiday books as well. My toddler loves to find the eggs on each page while practicing counting.
Easter Clothes for Babies and Toddlers
I like to put a clothing item in the Easter Basket. Whether it’s a funny t-shirt or nice Easter dress clothes, it fills the basket nicely and is something I know that they will use.
For instance, I always get a special outfit for their first holiday.
The clothing doesn’t have to follow the Easter theme. Sometimes, I’ve given clothes that I know they will need as the weather warms in spring and summer.
Easter Eggs for Babies and Toddlers
The Easter Egg Hunt is such a fun tradition for toddler and older babies. Its adorable to watch them as they find eggs. But it can be a challenge to fill the eggs if you don’t want to use candy.
If you’re wondering what to put in Easter eggs for babies and toddler, here are some ideas for candy alternatives:
Raisins
Cheerios
Yogurt melts
Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies or Goldfish crackers
Nothing – yes, it’s a total cop out, but for older babies and young toddlers just picking up the eggs is fun enough. We have lots of egg hunts leading up to Easter and even for weeks afterwards with just empty eggs and they love it.
Happy Easter 2019!
I’d love to hear from other moms! What other fun Easter basket filler ideas have you come up with for your babies and toddlers?
